Simple Installation The MEMS3000 features a simple installation process that can be completed effectively by supervision officers at the home or by spending 10-15 minutes training the offender while at the office – which includes visual enrollment into the system. All that is required for device installation in the home is connecting the power cord and the phone line (landline device only). The device automatically receives a download of the testing parameters previously established by supervision officers. Visual Color Picture Identification The unique technology within the MEMS3000 utilizes an interface circuit that combines a video display with the alcohol tester. This interface ensures verification of the offender by taking a picture while the breath test is performed, which is then compared to the offender’s reference picture. This real-time visual verification greatly reduces the opportunity for offenders to “cheat” the system.
The MEMS3000 system enables remote monitoring over landline or cellular networks and accommodates digital lines. These communication options offer agencies flexibility in the application of alcohol monitoring in locations where lack of a landline is an issue. Customizable Testing Schedules Supervision officers define alcohol tests per offender and are able to add multiple tests per day – each defined by the time range and number of tests to perform. Manual, automatic and randomly scheduled testing is available within the system. These features of the MEMS3000 system enable monitoring of extensive caseloads with high availability and accuracy on one hand while maximizing the system based upon the electronic surveillance needed. Enhanced Security Features The MEMS3000 is robust, durable device with multiple tamper and malfunction alerts including a fixed, secured mouthpiece; 18-hour battery backup and extended memory for test result storage. These features minimize the offenders’ ability to manipulate or bypass the system and provide immediate notification to supervision officers. Augmented Supervision with Optional RF Monitoring Some offenders may require additional electronic monitoring supervision beyond alcohol monitoring. The MEMS3000 system offers agencies a device that provides – both alcohol monitoring and house arrest monitoring – just by installing an E3 RF transmitter on the offender’s ankle. |
